License to ...

JENG JENG JENG!!!

On the largest island in the world where you don't have a thing called Identity Card, it's wise to get a driver's license as it doubles up as an ID card and reduce a lot of hassle of proving yourself.

As with any other driving license, you start with a L plate and you can get this by taking the undang-undang. All details here if you are in Victoria. Once you have a L License, you can ask anyone with a full license to sit next to you, affix the L Plate on your car and you can start driving/learning around the neighborhood. Uncle had patiently took me driving many many rounds.

It is always good to also get a couple of lessons from the driving school. It's one thing to drive and another to pass a driving test. You can choose for an auto gear or manual gear. Naturally I got for manual gear. Just when I thought I can have a normal uneventful exam, my klutzy instructor registered me for the wrong exam. However sometimes not having something might not be a bad thing after all. The weather was bad and I could have flunked. The second time it the weather's perfect and I passed at first try. THANK GOD!

After that it's just deciding if I should get a 10 year license or a 3 year. It cost A$245.00 for a 10 year license. I decided to take 10 years as it's more economically in the long run but Nite said, "What if you died before the 10 years? Mah rugi lor.."

Er..
